Dr. Ann Feeney is a research scientist at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla. Her research involves studying how our lymphocytes generate a diverse repertoire of antibodies to combat a wide variety of pathogens. Her work is all at the genetic and molecular biology level, studying the regulation of the gene segments that encode the antibodies, and how they are assembled.

Four years ago, she joined the Sustainability Advisory Board (SAB) for the City of Del Mar, and for the past 2 years, she has been the Chair of the Board. When Ann joined the SAB, the volunteer group of citizens was tasked with establishing the Climate Action Plan (CAP) for Del Mar, which was adopted in June 2016. Since then, their activities have been centered on implementation of the CAP. Their primary focus was to establish a Community Choice Energy (CCE) for Del Mar, and Ann will discuss how they are progressing toward that goal at the April 27 Bites & Bigwigs lunch.
