Fueling Alternatives
An Alternative Fuel Vehicle Rebate Program
Background
Fueling Alternatives is a program of the California Air Resources Board ( ARB) that provides rebates in varying amounts to Californians who purchase an eligible alternative fuel vehicle. Fueling Alternatives was developed in response to Assembly Bill 1811, which appropriated $25 million for programs that promote alternative fuel infrastructure and vehicles. Approximately $1.8 million of that money has be en allocated for the Fueling Alternatives rebate program, which will be administered by the California Cente r for Sustainable Energy ( CCSE) on behalf of the ARB.
Vehicles
The types of eligible vehicles and rebate amounts are provided in the table below. To receive a rebate, vehicles must be ARB certified (with the exception of zero emission motorcycles), comply with all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, and meet a minimum manufacturer warrantee.

Eligibility
The rebate will apply to all eligible vehicles purchased on or after May 24, 2007 through March 31, 2009 or as long as funds are available, whichever comes first. Eligible applicants include individuals, businesses, public agencies and entities, and private organizations.
