Energy Upgrade California Rebates
Generous rebates are available for homeowners to help cover the costs to install energy efficiency upgrades. The Energy Upgrade California rebate from SDG&E can cover up to $1,250 for the "basic" upgrade. For those homeowners who follow the “advanced” upgrade path and have additional measures installed, up to $4,000 in rebates could be attained. Rebates are determined on the percentage of energy savings. These savings are calculated with a computerized model based on 1) 12 months of energy use before the upgrades are installed, 2) and the estimated annual savings after the upgrades are installed.

Through the City's Home Upgrade/Carbon Downgrade Program, rebates that match dollar-for-dollar with the Energy Upgrade California rebate are available for homeowners. By taking advantage of this Program, homeowners can double their rebates! Time is running out on this matching rebate, at this point these funds are expected to run out soon! The City estimates there are enough matching rebates for about 10 more homes!
