MASH Track 2: Full Steam Ahead

The Multifamily Affordable Solar Housing ( MASH) program provides incentive funds for solar PV power systems on qualifying low-income properties as part of the California Solar Initiative. One program, called Track 2, is a competitive grant proposal that allows property owners to get higher incentive payments.

The first cycle of the competitive MASH Track 2 grant began July 1 and will remain open until September 30. I am very excited about this new style of application because it should produce some innovative projects that include multiple forms of benefits to low-income tenants. On August 20, MASH program administrators held a workshop in San Francisco to discuss the Track 2 grant proposal and allow potential applicants to ask questions. Read the MASH presentation.

Be sure to contact me if you have any questions regarding Track 2 or any other part of the MASH program. For more information on the MASH program, including program applications, visit our MASH website.

Notable & Quotable

"The scientists are virtually screaming from the rooftops now. The debate is over! There's no longer any debate in the scientific community about this. But the political systems around the world have held this at arm's length because it's an inconvenient truth, because they don't want to accept that it's a moral imperative."

- Al Gore, An Inconvenient Truth
