SAN DIEGO, Calif. (June 10, 2009) - Six new members have joined the board of directors at the California Center for Sustainable Energy ( CCSE), a San Diego-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting change for a clean energy future.

The appointments bring the board total to 13 members, reflecting the growth of the center since its founding in 1996, according to Irene Stillings, CCSE executive director. The center helps local residents, businesses and public agencies adopt greener practices and save energy and money through a variety of rebate, technical assistance and educational programs.

Stillings said the six new members represent “a wide breath of knowledge and experience in business, organizational leadership and sustainability that will help guide our center to new avenues for creating a clean energy future.”

The six new members are:

She held various positions related to studies of the earth from space in NASA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the private sector prior to joining UCSD, where she oversees sustainability research and training programs.
