Energy All-Star Awards recognize San Diego’s sustainable energy leaders
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Dec. 19, 2011) - Nominations are open for the 8th Annual Energy All-Stars Awards honoring the accomplishments of companies, organizations, individuals and others who significantly reduced their energy use, implemented renewable energy or curbed greenhouse gas emissions during 2011.
The awards are presented annually by the California Center for Sustainable Energy ( CCSE), a nonprofit organization that helps San Diegans adopt green practices and save energy and money through rebates, expert services and education.
Nominations for the 2011 Energy All-Star Awards are due by Friday, January 6, 2012. A panel of energy experts and industry leaders will serve on the selection committee. Nominations can be made online at the center’s website at www.energycenter.org/all-stars.
There are eight awards in five categories related to sustainable transportation, innovative building projects, outstanding homeowner, outstanding organization and individual leadership. Past winners include QUALCOMM, UC San Diego, San Diego Zoo, Kyocera, the San Diego Convention Center and many others.
The 2011 Energy All-Star Awards ceremony will be held in March 2012 at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice at the University of San Diego.
The 2011 Energy All-Star Awards categories are:
- Outstanding Homeowner
- Outstanding Innovation in a Building Project – Large Commercial
- Outstanding Innovation in a Building Project – Small Commercial
- Outstanding Innovation in a Building Project – Government or Nonprofit
- Outstanding Organization
- Sustainable Community Leadership – San Diego Region
- Sustainable Community Leadership – California Statewide
- Sustainable Transportation
