SDHEROProgram offers up to $4,000 in rebates for home energy improvements

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (July 11, 2012) – The San Diego Hero Alliance will host  a free dinner workshop on how to make homes more energy efficient for members of the San Diego military community at the California Center for Sustainable Energy ( CCSE) on Wednesday, July 25, at 6:00 p.m.

The San Diego Hero Alliance helps active duty military, veterans and their families make their homes more energy efficient, comfortable and healthy, while tapping into rebates of up to $4,000.

In addition to reducing energy consumption and curbing monthly utility bills, home energy efficiency is an important quality-of-life issue. Home energy upgrades eliminate drafts, keep room temperatures consistent and comfortable and reduce indoor dust and mold.

During the workshop, CCSE will provide the resources needed to take action, including $300 vouchers for home energy assessments, information on rebates and financing options and testimonials by military and veteran families who have completed home energy upgrades.

The workshop will be held at CCSE’s Kearny Mesa headquarters, 8690 Balboa Avenue, Suite 100, San Diego. Parking and admission are free.

For more information and registration, go to www.sdhero.org/workshop or call CCSE at (858) 244-1196.

Notable & Quotable

"I urge individuals around the world to stand up, and ask local leaders, if they haven't already, to pledge to purchase cleaner cars, build green facilities, and buy green power like wind or solar energy. Our actions may determine if we become a casualty in the war for a habitable planet for generations to come."
