SAN DIEGO, Calif. (October 03, 2008)- Solar Energy Week is empowering San Diegans to get their power from the sun! Mayor Sanders will kick off the eventful week at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8th, at the Energy Resource Center located at CCSE’s home office in Kearny Mesa (8690 Balboa Ave., Suite 100, 92123).
Mayor Sanders will talk about solar energy’s positive impact on the city and how Solar Energy Week brings awareness and education to the public. CCSE Executive Director, Irene Stillings, will discuss CCSE’s role in promoting solar power locally and Special Events Program Manager, Lauri Walker, will provide details on the week’s events including: Family Solar Day, Solar Power International 2008 conference and expo, California Day and the Solar Homes and Commercial Solar Tours. Solar Energy Week is Sunday, October 12th through Saturday, October 18th at locations throughout San Diego. The mission is to increase the adoption of clean, renewable solar energy solutions for generating power and saving energy.
