Energy expert Amory Lovins, chairman of the Rocky Mountain Institute, captivated a crowd of San Diegans with visions of a future United States thriving economically without using oil, coal or nuclear power at a lecture cosponsored by CCSE and CleanTECH San Diego held April 11. His solution is “reinventing fire,” a sweeping proposal to transition from burning fossil fuels to using efficient and renewable energy.

CCSE & Earth Day

Although every day is Earth Day at CCSE, the nation will be celebrating big on April 22. CCSE staff employees and Earth-saving volunteers will be spreading the word all week about sustainable living, representing at nine events on Sunday and at least 15 others throughout the rest of the month.

GLA teaches lessons with plenty of energy

On February 8 Andrea took CCSE's Green Learning Adventure on the road to Del Mar where she joined many other companies, like Genentech and Hewlitt-Packard, in showing students how science and technology translate to the workplace and real life.  As you can read in the UT article, the event was attended by 2500 students from 42 different schools.
