It was standing room only at the CCSE Local Government Training Workshop on home energy retrofit programs and government-sponsored financing options held May 21.
Over 100 government officials, energy industry experts, and others attended the workshop that focused on how municipalities can design comprehensive home energy efficiency programs with consistent standards that will help meet California legislation requiring greenhouse gas emission reductions while decreasing energy consumption.
Andrew McAllister led a discussion of how both federal stimulus funds and state property-assessed financing programs can leverage homeowner’s interests in energy improvements by reducing up-front system and installation costs.
The workshop was a joint effort with presentations by CCSE, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, , Build It Green, the California Air Resources Board, the California Energy Commission, San Diego Gas and Electric, Heschong Mahone Group, California Building Performance Contractors Association, Bevilacqua-Knight and Sustainable Spaces.
