Local competition for national Rideshare Week

CCSE placed first in SANDAG’s iCommute Rideshare Week Corporate Challenge in the small business category by logging more than 540 commuting trips not driven alone or not taken due to telecommuting during October.

The winners are:

  • Small: California Center for Sustainable Energy
  • Medium: AECOM
  • Large: La Costa Glen
  • Macro: SAIC
  • Mega: QUALCOMM

CCSE wins iCarpool awardOverall, participants in the San Diego challenge produced significant environmental savings:

  • 5,170 trips not driven alone
  • 123,202 vehicle miles not traveled
  • 6,160 gallons of gasoline not used
  • 98,650 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions avoided

San Diegans can make a difference all year long by taking alternatives to commuting alone. Vanpooling, carpooling, walking, biking, telecommuting or taking transit just one day a week can save you time and money, while helping the environment.
