Travelling showcase for sustainable energy

CCSE is taking sustainable home energy ideas and practices on the road!

The CCSE Residential Energy Roadshow, a 24-foot portable resource center, is designed to educate and inspire Southern Californians to learn about and adopt energy-saving practices in home efficiency, solar technologies and alternative-fuel transportation. CCSE will take the exhibit to community events throughout San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino counties, with the first showcase August 26-28 at the San Diego Home, Hot Tub & Landscape Show.

The CCSE Residential Energy Roadshow is transported by a propane-fueled Ford F-250 pickup truck made available by ROUSH CleanTech, manufacturers of liquid propane autogas fuel systems. The truck will be fueled by Ferrellgas, a nationwide propane autogas supplier with more than 200 fueling locations in California alone. The exhibits in the demo trailer address a wide range of sustainability practices to improve home comfort and to save energy and money, such as insulating homes, using new lighting technologies, installing solar power, capturing rainwater and much more.

“Thanks to generous donations from ROUSH CleanTech and Ferrellgas, hundreds of thousands of Californians will be able to learn about home energy efficiency, solar energy and Energy Upgrade California when visiting the mobile exhibit,” said Irene Stillings, CCSE executive director. “This is a perfect example of how multiple clean technologies can work together to demonstrate energy savings, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote more sustainable practices.”

The CCSE Residential Energy Roadshow is funded in part by the Department of Energy in support of the goals of its BetterBuildings Neighborhood Program and two California programs, Energy Upgrade California™ and Go Solar California! Various manufacturers and service providers have donated generously to the exhibit as well.
