Biofuel activist Josh Tickell, director of the Sundance award-winning documentary “Fuel,” will share his thoughts and views on the use and future of oil and fuel alternatives 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Street Smart. Tickell’s specific expertise is in biodiesel, having once spent 11 years crossing the country in his vegetable oil-powered “Veggie Van” as a way to promote biofuels, which he writes about in his book From the Fryer to the Fuel Tank. His latest project, “Fuel” presents an insightful overview of America’s troubled relationship with oil and how alternative and sustainable energies can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
Highly opinionated and frequently controversial, Tickell is sure to fuel the fires of any debate about Big Oil-government relations and the reluctance of the auto industry to move away from petroleum.
