There are many ways to compare the Nissan Leaf with the Chevrolet Volt – two of the hot, new electric vehicles. Just take a look at what a quick search on the web produces. There are articles that compare the two cars in term of performance, price, warranty and reliability. We thought it would be interesting, if a little geeky, to compare who and how many people do web searches on the two cars around the world. There is a tool called Google trends that allows you to do just that and the results are quite interesting.

The Nissan Leaf is leading the searches online. Interestingly, San Diego is the leading the city with the most searches to Nissan Leaf topping other green cities such as San Francisco and Seattle.

San Diegans should be happy to know that Family Energy Day and Street Smart San Diego on September 12 will give EV enthusiasts an unique opportunity to see both cars side to side as well as other EV and PHEV vehicles like the Tesla, Toyota Plug-in Prius, Mitsubishi MIEV, Think City North America TRIAC and maybe the Aptera. We are even arranging test drives for some of these cars!
Pass the word San Diego... the search for the new Electric Vehicles is on at Sustainable Energy Week!
