New focus provides broader perspective on clean energy solutions
For the past five years, CCSE has presented a series of successful Solar Energy Week celebrations saluting clean energy from the sun. But we now see an urgent need to expand our scope and include solar energy’s natural partners – renewable energy generation and energy conservation and efficiency. Only by adopting these critical energy measures and demanding high energy performance from our homes and buildings will it be possible for San Diego and California to meet our goals for energy independence and reduced CO2 emissions.
Please join us for a weeklong series of activities for everyone from families and children to engineers and policy makers.
 Family Energy Day and Street Smart San Diego
Sunday, Sept. 12 from 10am - 4pm
Find out the simple steps you can take right away to lower next month’s energy costs in one afternoon of free, interactive family fun. The day features high dollar prize drawings, test drives of the pre-market plug-in cars of the future, games for kids, food and live entertainment, workshops offering cost saving solutions, home energy savings and clean generation vendor displays and a chance to speak with experts on how to save energy and money…Plus, the opportunity to meet celebrity racecar driver and environmental activist, Carbon Free Girl, Leilani Munter.  CCSE Clean Energy Conference
Thursday, Sept. 16 from 8:30am to 5:15pm (reception until 7pm)
This annual event brings together a broad cross section of business leaders, energy experts, industry contractors and policymakers to discuss our most pressing clean energy issues and opportunities. Network, learn best practices and explore the latest in energy policies, financing, technologies and more.
In addition to the morning plenary about the state of clean energy in California, this year's event features four tracks: Home Performance, Solar in Southern California, Smart Energy Equals Smart Business, and Energy Case Studies and Technologies (see agenda).
