Light Emitting Diodes (LED’s) are a special type of semiconductor diode made up of miniature bulbs that do not use filaments to produce light. LED’s are used in all sorts of electronic devices such as remote controls, traffic lights, digital clocks and flashlights. LED’s are almost unbreakable, last a long time and consume a fraction of the energy of conventional lighting. In recent years, LED’s have become more affordable and have increased efficiencies.
