Some of the benefits include:

• No ducts – refrigerant is supplied to the indoor unit in copper tubing through a small opening in your wall
• Save energy – units are wall mounted in the areas where cooling is needed and less that 5 percent of the cooling gets lost. In many duct systems, up to 40 percent of the cooling can be lost due to duct leakage, heat loss and cooling empty rooms.

The alternative is often loud window units. Ductless split systems are much more quiet and efficiency and can offer both heating and cooling.
