Recently installed in CCSE’s Learning Centers, these motorized window shades protect against the direct sun, reducing solar gain by dissipating excess heat and cooling naturally - all by the touch of a button.
In the winter, the shades can be adjusted to capture solar heat gain, store it in thermal mass and retain it through insulation. They have the potential to be controlled remotely and are installed with a sun sensor device and timer to reduce the contrasts at peak hours of the day, avoid glare and create a more pleasing atmosphere. Also, these shades maximize the use of natural daylight to ensure greater visual comfort and reduce the need for artificial lighting, thereby lowering energy consumption and operating costs.
