Horicultural Societies in San Diego promote the enjoyment, art, knowledge and public awareness of horticulture while providing the opportunity for education and research.
San Diego Floral Association
The San Diego Floral Association is sponsored by the San Diego Park and Recreation Department.
Founded in 1907, it is the oldest garden club in Southern California and the first organization allowed to occupy quarters in Balboa Park.
Since 1909, The Association has published California Garden magazine, one of the oldest continually-published horticultural magazines in the United States.One of the main purposes of the San Diego Floral Association is that of horticultural education and the dissemination of gardening information. To this end, when the Association was first founded in 1907, the San Diego Floral Association Library was established so that gardening information would be readily available to members and the general public. The Library contains over 3,500 books, which are indexed by author, title and subject.
The Association's meeting display board outside the Prado, room 105, shows all the horticultural organizations that in Balboa Park.
The Association publishes on the web a Calendar of events, classes and gardening-related activities taking place all over San Diego County.

San Diego Horticultural Society
The San Diego Horticultural Society promotes the enjoyment, art, knowledge and public awareness of horticulture in the San Diego area, while providing the opportunity for education and research.
The Horticultural Society provides the following:
Connections to a diverse group of professional sponsors, who not only provide their expert services but also member discounts.
- A wide range of garden tours.
- An extensive lending library of books and videos, including videos of our speakers.
- Substantial annual college scholarships.
- Exciting evening events with world-famous horticulturists.
Everyone is welcome to attend the monthly meetings, which are free for members and $10 for non-members. Parking is free for everyone attending. One meeting a year is a Special Speakers event; the date and location for that meeting varies each year.
