Western Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture

The Western Chapter of the ISA is your local link to getting quality training to become an arborist, tree worker, or improve your skills in both careers. Here are some of the benefits to membership.

  • The western chapter publishes a quarterly magazine "The Western Arborist" filled with timely regional arboriculture information and the opportunity to earn one continuing education unit.
  • They present 18 to 20 outstanding and topical regional meetings each year with titles such as Technology and Tree Work, Tree Hazard Evaluation Workshops and Innovations in Tree Climbing from which you may earn CEUs.
  • An annual meeting is held each year which is a great way to catch up on what is new and changing in the industry.
  • The regional chapter developed and maintains the Certified Tree Worker program.
  • Western chapter offer books and study materials for sale and can ship them quicker than the international organization.

University of California Statewide Master Gardener Program

The California Garden Web serves as a portal to organize and extend to the public the University of California's vast collection of research-based information about gardening. The California Garden Web focuses on sustainable gardening practices and uses a question and answer format to present solutions. The blog highlights gardening issues pertaining to the season.  The California Garden Web was designed by the University of California Master Gardener Program.
