AB 1470

Creates the Solar Hot Water and Efficiency Act of 2007 (SHWEA), a $250 million subsidy program for solar hot water heaters with the goal of promoting the installation of 200,000 solar hot water systems in California by 2017.  The pilot program, created by the bill, stopped taking applications in December 31, 2009

 
AB 811

Assembly Bill 811, passed in July of 2008 allows local governments to form assessment districts that allow property owners to install renewable energy and energy efficiency improvements on their properties and pay for the cost of the projects over time.  Subsequent to the passage of AB 811, several governments in California and other states are forming financing districts for their constituents

Senate Bill 1: Creation of California Solar Initiative (2006). This bill establishes goals of installing 3000 MW of solar generation capacity, establishing a self-sufficient solar industry, and placing PV systems on 50% of new homes in 13 years.

Senate Bill 32 - Expands the current feed-in-tariff (FIT) program to allow for renewable resources that are up to three megawatts (MWs) in size to qualify and to require the California Public Utilities Commission (PUC) to include the value of environmental compliance costs in the rate paid to generators under FIT.

 
SB 375

Senate Bill 375 - requires ARB, by September 30, 2010, to provide each region that has a metropolitan planning organization (MPO) with greenhouse gas emission reduction targets for the automobile and light truck sector for 2020 and 2035, respectively.  Sponsored by Senate President Steinberg, the bill -now law- seeks to reduce GHG/meet the requirements of AB 32 by promoting more compact land use policies in conjunction with shorter and fewer vehicle trips
