From free educational workshops to technical expertise, CCSE offers professional advice and cost-cutting strategies to help consumers and industry professionals identify energy efficiency solutions at home at play and work.

CCSE’s programs promote and assist homebuilders, office building managers, product manufacturers homeowners and others interested in improving the energy efficiency of homes, buildings and various building components and appliances.

CCSE has extensive programs provides a number of free services designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption including:

  • Workshops: CCSE and SDG&E conduct dozens of expert-facilitated workshops and seminars on a broad spectrum of energy topics and issues. From the latest in climate change, green building, and advanced lighting technologies, to do-it-yourself “energy smart” remodeling, there’s something for everyone.
  • San Diego Energy Resource Center provides the latest in technology displays, a resource lending library for education and a tool lending library to with the implementation of your energy projects. ERC staff is also available to provide technical assistance for your energy projects and provide information on available rebates and financing. All of the ERC’s services are free.
  • The Tax Exempt Customer Incentive Program provides technical and administrative assistance, plus financial incentives to help tax-exempt organizations implement energy efficiency measures.
  • Energy Advisory Services: assists customers in implementing energy efficiency and clean energy strategies and in identifying areas for change and presenting forward thinking solutions. Contact our EAS team for a consultation.
  • San Diego Excellence in Energy Awards: The San Diego Excellence in Energy (SANDEE) Awards recognize local energy heroes who have participated in outstanding projects and activities that have achieved significant energy savings and/or contributions toward the goals of the San Diego Regional Energy Strategy 2030.
  • Sustainablity Fair: This annual event takes place at CCSE with exhibit displays and workshops that showcased the latest technology in sustainable energy, water use, recycling and waste management.

Featured ERC Display

SkyShadesSKYshades of Southern California, in partnership with CCSE and the NewSchool of Architecture, hosted the inaugural sustainable tensile architecture design competition. The design competition allowed architecture students to develop a commercial carport structure model highlighting tension membrane and thin-film, organic photovoltaic (PV) technologies.
