Market development and deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) and associated charging equipment (EVSE) is a top priority for California and the nation. The California Energy Commission and the Department of Energy have made planning grants to facilitate the rapid adoption of EVs and to address potential barriers in a coordinated manner.
As a leader on EV deployment in CA and the southern CA region, CCSE is playing an important role in these efforts.
CCSE, through three grants awarded in 2011, participates throughout the state to ensure that all facets of EV readiness - education, permitting, EVSE installation, vehicle and charging equipment manufacturers - are streamlined and made as consistent as possible.
CCSE is involved in two regional and one statewide EV readiness programs:
- San Diego Regional EV Planning in partnership with the San Diego Association of Governments
- San Joaquin Valley EV Planning
- Plug-in Electric Vehicle Statewide EV Planning
