Between June 2010 and May 2012, CCSE was a leader in Toyota’s global Prius PHV Demonstration Program. The Demonstration Program included 150 vehicles placed with various partners throughout the U.S. in order to demonstrate plug-in hybrid technology, educate and inform the public, evaluate performance and better understand the technology’s benefits to future customers. As part of the program, CCSE received and operated two vehicles. CCSE has also showcased the Prius Plug-in at multiple regional events to educate the public about electric vehicle technologies.
The 2012 Plug-in features an extended EV mode allowing you to drive 15 miles on a single charge, up to 62 mph, as well as a quick three-hour charge time from a standard 120V AC household outlet. If you run out of electric charge, the vehicle seamlessly shifts into hybrid mode, still giving you great MPG.
Through technology demonstrations partnerships like this, CCSE is playing a leading role in providing on the ground feedback, vehicle driving statistics, charging behavior and vehicle performance information to Toyota as it prepared for the national roll-out of this new technology.
