Water intrusion from roof penetrations has become a big concern in the solar industry.

In this presentation Johan Alfsen, of Quick Mount PV, will discuss how to follow important roofing codes in order to maintain roof warranties, protect the roof,  and installer liability. Various mounting and waterproof flashing from the industry will be reviewed. 

Johan Alfsen has been in the solar industry since 2004 where he started as an installer in the San Francisco Bay Area. Currently the Training Manager for Quick Mount PV, Johan has been a keynote speaker and trainer on the topic of roof penetrations and code compliance for residential solar installations. Spearheading the goal to connect the solar industry with the roofing industry he has trainer solar PV and thermal installers all over North America on the importance of following roofing codes with his NABCEP registered presentations. Johan holds a degree in Environmental Sustainability and Social Justice.
