Application Process

Important Note: Current funding for MASH is exhausted in the SDG&E territory. Per CPUC decision, all projects currently on the waitlist are required to submit additional documentation to receive a rebate.

Many changes have been requested for the new MASH program per CPUC decision D.15-01-027. Below you will find a list of the newly required documentation for a project to be eligible for a MASH incentive.

Job Training Requirements

Each project is required to provide job training opportunities to more than one trainee with one additional trained for each 10 kW up to 50 kW.

Energy Efficient Audits

Each project is required to conduct an on-site walkthrough energy audit at ASHRAE Level 1 or higher, or enroll in a utility, REN, CCA or federally provided whole-building multifamily energy efficiency program.

Energy Savings Assistance (ESA) Program Requirements

The applicant will be required to submit a list of all tenant addresses within the apartment complex. The address must list the street address and unit number. Tenant information is not needed.

For more information, please refer to the MASH handbook.

Three-Step Application Process

MASH applicants will generally use a three-step application process, which, in addition to the Reservation Request Application and Incentive Claim steps, includes a separate Proof of Project Milestone (PPM) step at which time a PPM Checklist and other PPM documents are due. If a MASH applicant can provide the additional Step 2 PPM documents at the time of Reservation Request Application submittal, the PPM step will no longer be required. If the project is less than 10 kW CEC-AC, the project is not required to submit an application fee and can use the two-step application process.

  • Step 1: Reservation Request
  • Step 2: Proof of Project Milestone
  • Step 3: Incentive Claim Form Package
