Leaders 2020 Lobbying and Advocacy Training with Pat Libby
San Diego Leaders 2020 has partnered with renowned consultant Pat Libby to bring a four-part training and coaching series to San Diego’s leaders. Through hands-on workshops and coursework, participants will learn the framework for conceptualizing and carrying out advocacy campaigns, including crafting new legislative proposals at the city, county or state level for which they can then lobby or, alternatively support and advance existing initiatives. There is also an optional and additional trip to Sacramento to lobby for legislative proposals crafted by participants.
The training is focused on environmental advocacy issues and participants will learn about and work on current local environmental policy initiatives from groups like Climate Action Campaign and the San Diego Food Systems Alliance. This is a unique opportunity to participate in a graduate-level course at a discounted rate, learn from one of the most influential people in advocacy, and gain practical skills to apply toward solving problems important to you. Read the syllabus here.
Individuals looking to engage with their communities, advocate for important issues, and actively participate in building a brighter future. The training is especially focused on environmental sustainability issues, although those interested in other areas are encouraged to participate.
