California residents purchasing or leasing new, eligible PEVs qualify for a rebate of up to $2,500 from the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project. Other benefits include the federal tax credit of up to $7,500, local rebates, HOV lane stickers and parking privileges. There also are incentives for residential charging stations. Home Energy Efficiency
Energy Upgrade CaliforniaTM Home Upgrade offers rebates of between $1,000 and $4,500 for “whole house” upgrades including insulation, air sealing and duct replacements. High efficiency furnaces, air conditioners, water heaters and windows may also be included. Projects must be performed by a Home Upgrade participating contractor.
The California Solar Initiative is the incentive program for PV solar installations among the state’s investor-owned electric utilities. Refer to the CSI Trigger Tracker for available funding in each service territory. In other areas, check your local utility provider for currently available rebates. There also is a 30% federal tax credit for solar installations, available through December 31, 2016.
