The Central Sierra Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Readiness Plan aimed to develop a locally informed, actionable approach to removing barriers to ZEV adoption in the region covering Alpine, Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne counties.
Funded by a California Energy Commission grant, the readiness plan addressed the unique challenges to ZEV adoption in this rural part of the state, evaluated and streamlined infrastructure processes and determined best practices for public EV charging as well as devised recommendations for municipal fleet readiness. CSE coordinated efforts with working group members to identify key stakeholders in the counties to engage in the planning. The outcome focused on creating an outreach and education plan for regional jurisdictions and stakeholders to provide a roadmap for rapid and coordinated deployment of ZEV infrastructure.
