Southern California Edison (SCE) selected the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE) to design, launch and administer its Charge Ready Home program, a multiyear initiative that provides rebates to SCE customers in income-qualifying households and disadvantaged communities.

The program provides eligible residents rebates of up to $4,200 to upgrade their home's electrical panel to a 200-amp panel and install a dedicated 240-volt circuit to support installation of in-home Level 2 charging equipment. The program is funded by California Low Carbon Fuel Standard credits.

The program’s goal is to remove barriers to home electrification for lower-income single-family residents preparing to install EV chargers and other energy upgrades.

As the administrator, CSE has designed the program procedures and workflows, maintains an eligible electrical contractor database, processes applications, issues rebate checks and reports on program statistics.

CSE administers EV and EV charging incentive programs for states and utilities in 10 states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Washington.
