Job Summary

Responsible for technical support of various Electric Vehicle Infrastructure projects with a focus on work related to the administration of the California Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project (CALeVIP). Under general supervision from a Senior Manager, the Specialist will assume responsibilities that include program implementation, electric vehicle infrastructure stakeholder engagement, and technical assistance to site owners. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by stakeholders specific to the design, permitting, installation and use of electric vehicle chargers, and experience providing stakeholders education, outreach, coaching and support systems to address their specific barriers. With experience and expertise, the ideal candidate can actively participate in the creation of appropriate tools and resources that help stakeholders achieve transportation electrification goals.    

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall operational support to electric vehicle infrastructure (EVI) project teams. Communicate regularly with leadership team to provide updates, report concerns, and suggest solutions for improvements. 
  • Review electric vehicle infrastructure applications with complex site type, applicant eligibility, permitting, utility design/connection, or other aspects in support of CSE operations team.
  • Make consistent decisions, following detailed incentive program terms and conditions, to determine site applicant, equipment, and network eligibility.
  • Communicate with the operations team leads and operations managers to provide status updates, report concerns, and suggest solutions and improvements.
  • Assist with the development of operational definitions, tools, and resources for electric vehicle infrastructure equipment, permitting, utility design, and installation based on strong knowledge of local permitting processes, utility design processes, land use controls, and common real estate and business practices.
  • Assist with the development and deployment of outreach activities with clients, community-based organizations (CBOs), local community representatives, technology providers, fleet owners, air districts, state agencies and Energy Commission representatives, project funding partners, and other stakeholders, directly and indirectly, related to local, state and nationwide electric vehicle infrastructure programs.
  • Provide technical support to guide applicants through complex eligibility requirements and details, both over the phone and in writing.
  • Mentor and train more junior CSE team members to complete technical assistance tasks, assisting team members when opportunities arise.
  • Identify issues which may require deviation from standard practices and work with management to implement creative solutions. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Under supervision from the Senior Operations Manager, the Operations Manager supervises Clean Transportation Operations staff, managing daily operations to maximize rebate application processing efficiency and ensure that the team is achieving project objectives.  

 What you’ll be doing:

  • Manages activities within the Clean Transportation Operations team with responsibility for results including costs, methods, and staffing. Supervises 6-8 employees.  
  • Establishes goals for team members and monitors their progress. Ensures individual and team goals are achieved or exceeded. Provides regular feedback. Conducts performance appraisals. Creates professional development opportunities.  
  • Develops and maintains project expertise and deep understanding of rebate processing systems to guide Operations team members in their work, solve technical problems, maintain efficient work processes, and identify opportunities for improvement.  
  • Coaches employees in customer service best practices; monitors quality of team customer service; handles escalated customer service calls.  
  • Coordinates with internal teams and external vendors to implement and test system and process updates to meet new program requirements and to improve existing processes.  
  • Maintains quality control and performance metrics to ensure team members are completing work efficiently and accurately. Supports internal and external project auditing activities to ensure compliance with processes. Ensures data is handled according to program requirements and data security best practices.  
  • Develops and maintains documentation for all Operations processes and policies. Develops and maintains standard language for communicating with applicants via website, email, and phone. Trains employees to follow processes consistently and accurately.  
  • Communicates regularly with the Clean Transportation Operations management team to provide status updates, report concerns, and recommend solutions and improvements.  
  • Takes strategic direction from the Senior Operations Manager and proactively directs the team’s efforts based on that direction.   


 The ideal candidate:  

  • 5-6 years of related experience. Working knowledge of project management principles, managing grant agreements and government contracts.  
  • Experience in clean energy industry preferred.   
  • Some graduate school experience may take the place of some work experience if directly relevant to essential duties and responsibilities of this position.  
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.   
  • Additional work experience may be substituted to satisfy the education requirement.  
  • Demonstrated experience managing people and leading teams.   
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to deal effectively with employees, stakeholders and external parties.  
  • Demonstrated success in customer service; ability to promote quality customer service practices on the Operations team.

Job Summary

The Salesforce Development Manager is responsible for the oversight of several engineering teams and the delivery of all development work for multiple projects that will be underway at the same time. The Manager will work with the technical lead (s) to design and develop custom solutions for CSE’s internal and external clients. This is a hands-on developer position that will be the team Manager for a group of Salesforce engineers and will be accountable for the on-time and quality delivery of various product/project solution launches. CSE solutions include application processing platforms for clean energy incentive programs, such as California’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP). These solutions are highly customized and include a front-end CMS system and back-end Salesforce and document storage systems. This position reports to the Director of CSE’s Product and Platform Development team, and collaborates with a team of business analysts, and front-end and back-end developers (including external development partners) to design, develop, deploy, and maintain solutions.)  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • 7+ yrs experience designing and developing complex Salesforce solutions
  • 3 yrs of direct responsibility/supervision for Salesforce development team (s) or as the technical lead with direct report responsibility including mentoring, training, 1:1’s, goal setting and reviews
  • Follow SDLC best practices in both an agile scrum or Kanban environment and have some sound experience with waterfall methodology, as well
  • Hold the development teams accountable for quality of code, achieving committed work within a sprint or by project deadlines
  • Work with the team to design solutions that leverage Salesforce best practices and introduce new technologies
  • Oversee intake of business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the Salesforce platform
  • Lead a team of Salesforce developers in complex custom developments of entire applications using Apex and LWC
  • Identify and recommend salesforce.com based solutions, integration points and related implementation architecture for business usage improvements, scalability and performance
  • Integrate Salesforce with other applications using web services and API’s
  • Work with the team to complete solution design, timeline estimation, cost estimates for RFP’s, Contracts and Backlog Grooming Meetings
  • Engage in with Tech lead and/or lead code reviews to ensure best practice coding processes
  • Identify any application/code security issues and recommend solutions to resolve them
  • Strong foundation in version control, configuration management, deployment methodologies and release management
  • Administer development tools and create processes involving source control, code management, continuous integration etc.
  • Keep up to date with all upcoming Salesforce updates and ensure all CSE Salesforce Orgs remain operational by escalating to the Product Managers/Business Analysts any needed changes that should be added to the Product/Program roadmaps.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proven knowledge and expertise with complex custom development using Apex, with Lightening Component Development, the Salesforce clouds, Salesforce Communities, API and web services integrations is required. Proven experience with Object-Oriented programming, algorithms and multi-tenant system architecture, Advanced knowledge of data structures and design patterns. High Development standards with a zero-defect mind-set. Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills, attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Experience with Communities and Marketo Marketing Integration is a plus.

Required Qualifications:

7+ years of Apex, VF and Salesforce application design and development experience • 2+ years of Lighting Framework development experience (LWC) • Solid knowledge and experience in Object-Oriented Design and Programming techniques. • Expertise in Apex development, including in Trigger Frameworks, TDTM, and governor limits • Significant experience with Model View Controller, Custom API’s, Web Services and Rest API’s and with some type of Version Control. 

Education and/or experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering preferred)

The Business Analyst works on the Product Management & Platform Development team. They help define and implement software solutions to support requirements and increase efficiency in consumer incentive programs.  Becoming deeply knowledgeable of Salesforce CRM is key but the position is not limited to business analysis of only this system.  Other technology and tools involved in the day-to-day analysis include Web Development, Box Integration, Tableau Reporting, Security tools, etc.  Communication is a key success criteria for this role – being a good listener, asking key questions, speaking in a concise, clear manner with the ability to illicit details from stakeholders who do not have a technology background.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

BUSINESS ANALYSIS:

  • Gather and translate business needs into detailed software requirements and technical specifications.
  • Oversee system specification development, including creating and reviewing flowcharts and process diagrams.
  • Participate in and/or manage projects using Agile Sprints/Kanban and/or traditional waterfall methodology
  • Develop Agile documentation such as – User stories, Detailed requirements, Acceptance criteria
