The Salesforce Business Analyst works on the Product Management & Platform Development team. They help define and implement software solutions to support requirements and increase efficiency in consumer incentive programs.  Deep knowledge of Salesforce is essential but the position is not limited to business analysis of only Salesforce CRM.  Other technology and tools involved in the day to day analysis include Web Development, Box Integration, Tableau Reporting, Security tools, etc.  Communication is a key success criteria for this role – being a good listener, asking key questions, speaking in a concise, clear manner with the ability to illicit details from stakeholders who do not have a technology background. This role should be able to mentor other Business Analysts, as it relates to knowledge of Salesforce, best practices in general software development and in the development of documentation used by Developers to build best in class software solutions. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

BUSINESS ANALYSIS:

  • Own and support system development projects, including integration between project websites, rebate databases, and cloud-based document storage
  • Gather and translate business needs into detailed software requirements and technical specifications.
  • Oversee system specification development, including creating and reviewing flowcharts and process diagrams.
  • Participate in and/or manage projects using traditional waterfall methodology or agile Kanban/sprints
  • Develop waterfall SDLC documentation such as - Business Requirements Documents, Functional Requirements Documents, Acceptance/Regression Test plans, User Acceptance Test Plans and Deployment plans
  • Develop Agile documentation such as – User stories, Detailed Requirements, Acceptance Criteria, Agile test documentation
  • Respond to RFP’s by developing solution proposals, working with the dev team to develop estimates and develop project budgets
  • Work very closely with UX Interaction Designer to build best in class user experiences
  • Lead and guide testing and troubleshooting for new system features, including documenting system bugs, errors and solutions.
  • Develop QA Test plans, UAT plans, and Deployment plans and lead/coordinate these phases for project launches
  • Guide the implementation and rollout of new system features.
  • Help develop training and provide support for new system features.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve project objectives.
  • Perform research to gather necessary information, compile statistics, and prepare analysis of data.
  • Manage other Business Analysts on the team, as needed

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:

  • Support process improvement activities.
  • Participate in strategic planning for transportation and/or other project system operations.
  • Analyze operational models for effectiveness and suggest ways to improve.

Under supervision from the Director of Program Operations, the Operations Manager supervises Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and Clean Transportation Operations staff, managing daily operations to maximize rebate application processing efficiency and ensure that the team is achieving project objectives.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manages activities within Distributed Energy Resources and Clean Transportation incentive program teams with responsibility for results including application processing times, costs, methods and staffing. Initial focus will be on the Self Generation Incentive Program’s energy storage applications, and position will supervise a team of 4-12 employees.
  • Establishes goals for team members and monitors their progress. Ensures individual and team goals are achieved or exceeded. Meets weekly with each team member to provide regular feedback and consistent communications.  Conducts performance appraisals. Creates professional development opportunities.
  • Coordinates team scheduling for matrixed team members and support distribution of administrative duties across the team.
  • Supports initial training and on-boarding of new team members. Works with team members and coordinators when training goals are not met to maintain accountability for performance and trouble shoot issues in the training process.
  • Develops expertise in specific program requirements as directed by the Senior Operations Manager, and in close coordination with the Senior Program Manager, such as income verification, system updates, training, and other related program areas. Provides development of guidance, internal procedures and policies related to these focus areas.  
  • Coordinates with the Principal Engineer and other technical support staff to ensure timely completion of technical reviews for incentive applications and escalation to the Senior Program Manager.
  • Collaborates with internal teams in matters related to Operations functions, including Project managers/coordinators, Systems Analysts, Marketing/Education/Outreach, Accounting, and Human Resources.
  • Supervises and coaches team regarding customer relations, application troubleshooting, quality assurance/quality control, and all other activities related to consumer incentive application processing.
  • Develops and maintains project expertise and understanding of rebate processing systems to guide Operations team members in their work, solve technical problems, maintain efficient work processes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinates with the Senior Program Manager to provide oversight and support for escalated cases with unique circumstances to ensure program requirements are met. Directs team decision making in unique cases in which program precedent may be set.  
  • Provides support and direction for new and emerging programs and program requirements as they arise, such as with legislation changes or new program development, that affects operations and implementation. 
  • Work with internal and external clients to define scope and capabilities of platform, management of requirements gathering process, testing, creating user stories, streamline execution of project priorities.
  • Coordinates with internal teams and external vendors to implement and test system and process updates to meet new program requirements and to improve existing processes.
  • Maintains quality control and performance metrics to ensure team members are completing work efficiently and accurately. Supports internal and external project auditing activities to ensure compliance with processes. Ensures data is handled according to program requirements and data security best practices.
  • Develops and maintains documentation for all Operations processes and policies. This includes website updates, programmatic updates, updates to standard operating procedures, and regular system changes and reviews based on program requirements.
  • Communicates regularly with the Senior Program Manager and Clean Transportation Operations management team to provide status updates, report concerns, and recommend solutions and improvements.
  • Takes strategic direction from the Senior Program Manager and Senior Operations Manager and proactively directs the team’s efforts based on that direction.
  • Complete miscellaneous administrative duties, including time and leave management system for team members
  • Provide progressive discipline, coaching, and accountability when direct reports are not meeting goals or performance expectations in collaboration with Senior Program Manager and/or Senior Operations Manager and Human Resources

Responsible for general support of various Electric Vehicle Infrastructure projects with a focus on work related to the administration of the California Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project (CALeVIP). Under general supervision from the Project Manager, the Senior Coordinator will assume responsibilities that include project implementation, stakeholder engagement, project design, reporting and overall coordination of CALeVIP program requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall support to project team. Communicate regularly with leadership team to provide updates, report concerns, and suggest solutions for improvements.
  • Develop, track, and maintain project content and client deliverables.
  • Lead project webinar development from start to finish, including developing schedules, presentation and coordinating all webinar-related tasks.
  • Create, maintain, and submit project reports to inform reporting requirements and program design improvements.
  • Support project design process, including creating content, preparing marketing materials, and documenting requirements for each new project.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to standardize best practices across the team.
  • Identify issues which may require deviation from standard practices and work with team leads to implement solutions.
  • Conduct user acceptable testing for each project cycle, involving periods of heavy content review.
  • Lead internal and external meetings including agenda development and notetaking.
  • Provide outreach support to promote CALeVIP to other programs and audiences.
  • Successfully coordinate across functional teams to support project deliverables.

Job Summary

Responsible for technical support of various Electric Vehicle Infrastructure projects with a focus on work related to the administration of the California Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project (CALeVIP). Under general supervision from a Senior Manager, the Specialist will assume responsibilities that include program implementation, electric vehicle infrastructure stakeholder engagement, and technical assistance to site owners. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by stakeholders specific to the design, permitting, installation and use of electric vehicle chargers, and experience providing stakeholders education, outreach, coaching and support systems to address their specific barriers. With experience and expertise, the ideal candidate can actively participate in the creation of appropriate tools and resources that help stakeholders achieve transportation electrification goals.    

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall operational support to electric vehicle infrastructure (EVI) project teams. Communicate regularly with the leadership team to provide updates, report concerns, and suggest solutions for improvements. 
  • Review electric vehicle infrastructure applications with complex site type, applicant eligibility, permitting, utility design/connection, or other aspects in support of CSE operations team.
  • Make consistent decisions, following detailed incentive program terms and conditions, to determine site applicant, equipment, and network eligibility.
  • Communicate with the operations team leads and operations managers to provide status updates, report concerns, and suggest solutions and improvements.
  • Assist with the development of operational definitions, tools, and resources for electric vehicle infrastructure equipment, permitting, utility design, and installation based on strong knowledge of local permitting processes, utility design processes, land use controls, and common real estate and business practices.
  • Assist with the development and deployment of outreach activities with clients, community-based organizations (CBOs), local community representatives, technology providers, fleet owners, air districts, state agencies and Energy Commission representatives, project funding partners, and other stakeholders, directly and indirectly, related to local, state and nationwide electric vehicle infrastructure programs.
  • Provide technical support to guide applicants through complex eligibility requirements and details, both over the phone and in writing.
  • Mentor and train more junior CSE team members to complete technical assistance tasks, assisting team members when opportunities arise.
  • Identify issues that may require deviation from standard practices and work with management to implement creative solutions.
