The Salesforce Architect/Sr Developer leads the design and development of custom solutions for CSE’s internal and external clients. CSE solutions include application processing platforms for clean energy incentive programs. Our current solution architectures vary - in some instances, we use a front-end CMS system connected via web services to back-end Salesforce and document storage systems. Other solutions that we are developing include multi-tenant architecture within Salesforce and structured hierarchy and the use of Communities for public-facing application enrollment, involving heavy LWC development. The Salesforce Architect/Developer reports to the Sr Manager of Salesforce Development and collaborates with a team of business analysts, and front-end and back-end developers (including external development partners) to design, develop, deploy, and maintain solutions.

Essential Functions and responsibilities:

  • 7+ years of experience designing and developing complex custom Salesforce solutions
  • Analyze needs and develop solutions using traditional and/or agile development methodologies
  • Design solutions that leverage Salesforce best practices and introduce new technologies when necessary
  • Assess Salesforce.com architecture and provide secure, high-performance technical solutions on the Force.com platform
  • Understand Business requirements and design technical architecture solutions that span multiple platforms and include integration and authentication across systems.
  • In-depth understanding of the capabilities and constraints of the Salesforce 
  • Strong technical foundation: advanced structured programming (APEX, Force.com, .Net, Java), relational database concepts and structures, structured system analysis and design methods, etc.
  • Develop comprehensive configuration designs and architectural documentation to support the successful implementation of projects
  • Identify and recommend salesforce.com based solutions, integration points and related implementation architecture for business usage improvements, scalability and performance
  • Integrate Salesforce with other applications using web services and API’s
  • Engage in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
  • Identify any application/code security issues and recommend solutions to resolve them
  • Integrate and test systems using automation and non-automation methods
  • Strong foundation in version control, configuration management, deployment methodologies and release management
  • Provide mentoring and technical leadership to other team members

Required Qualifications (Essential knowledge, Skills and Abilities:))

  • 3+ years of Architecture experience at prior employment
  • 7+ years of Apex, Batch Interfaces, Visualforce and Salesforce application design and development experience
  • 2+ years of Lightning Web Component Development
  • 3+ years of experience in using Webservices like REST or SOAP API.
  • Proven experience with Multi-Tenant Architecture in Salesforce Orgs
  • Proven knowledge and expertise with Model View Controller methodologies and design
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming techniques
  • Implemented and Knowledge of various design and Integration patterns.
  • Knowledgeable in Trigger Frameworks and Salesforce governor limits
  • HTML, CSS and Javascript development is required
  • Experience in web developments skills like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Should have experience in using version control environments like Github, Bitbucket or Gitlab
  • Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality
  • Must be authorized to work in the US - Green card Holder or Citizen only

Education and/or experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, etc.

The Business Analyst works on the Product Management & Platform Development team. They help define and implement software solutions to support requirements and increase efficiency in consumer incentive programs.  Becoming deeply knowledgeable of Salesforce CRM is key but the position is not limited to business analysis of only this system.  Other technology and tools involved in the day-to-day analysis include Web Development, Box Integration, Tableau Reporting, Security tools, etc.  Communication is a key success criteria for this role – being a good listener, asking key questions, speaking in a concise, clear manner with the ability to illicit details from stakeholders who do not have a technology background.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

BUSINESS ANALYSIS:

  • Own and support system development projects, including integration between project websites, rebate databases, and cloud-based document storage
  • Gather and translate business needs into detailed software requirements and technical specifications.
  • Oversee system specification development, including creating and reviewing flowcharts and process diagrams.
  • Participate in and/or manage projects using traditional waterfall methodology or agile Kanban/sprints
  • Develop waterfall SDLC documentation such as - Business Requirements Documents, Functional Requirements Documents, Acceptance/Regression Test plans, User Acceptance Test Plans and Deployment plans
  • Develop Agile documentation such as – User stories, Detailed Requirements, Acceptance Criteria, Agile test documentation
  • Work with UX Interaction Design to build best in class user experiences
  • Lead and guide testing and troubleshooting for new system features, including documenting system bugs, errors and solutions.
  • Guide the implementation and rollout of new system features.
  • Help develop training and provide support for new system features.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve project objectives.
  • Perform research to gather necessary information, compile statistics, and prepare analysis of data.
  • Participate in or act as lead for the Product & Platform team during the development of RFP’s
  • Lead and manage other Business Analysts on the team, as needed

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:

  • Support process improvement activities.
  • Participate in strategic planning for transportation and/or other project system operations.
  • Analyze operational models for effectiveness and suggest ways to improve.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred

  • Significant experience with custom Salesforce development is a plus
  • Experience working with cloud-based storage systems (e.g., Box.com, Dropbox, etc.)
  • Experience with custom database/website development/implementation other than Salesforce/Drupal.
  • Understanding of barriers to adoption of clean transportation by underserved communities and low-to-moderate income households.
  • Basic knowledge of and/or interest in electric, plug-in hybrid electric, and other alternative fuel vehicles.
  • Basic knowledge of and/or interest in local, state, and federal transportation issues related to greenhouse gases (GHGs) and climate change.
  • Basic knowledge of and/or interest in energy issues with basic understanding of sustainable energy policy and technologies.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

Experience:

  • 5 years of related Business Systems Analyst experience required

  • Salesforce certifications preferred but none required
