About the Center for Sustainable Energy®

Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE) is an independent, mission-driven nonprofit organization with an office in San Diego.  We accelerate the adoption of clean and efficient energy solutions via program administration, technical assistance, policy innovation, and other forms of market facilitation. We are uniquely positioned and engaged with a variety of stakeholders and market actors, including policy-makers, state and federal agencies, regional and local governments, utilities, business and civic leaders, and individuals in both the general market and equity sectors. Our technical areas of focus include distributed energy resources (renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy storage, fuel cells, combined heat and power) and clean transportation.

The Senior Coordinator independently manages applicant and stakeholder engagement activities across multiple transportation decarbonization programs for utility or state-agency clients. The primary responsibility is to support a given program’s manager to develop materials for program administration, including standard operating procedures, stakeholder trainings, and internal program trainings; and implement critical program activities such as: training staff on program processes, developing program partner networks, providing trainings to the program partners, and interfacing with program partners. To do so, the Senior Coordinator interfaces with the Program Manager to align materials and activities to the program’s objectives and timelines. To excel in the role, Senior Coordinators must exercise independent judgment over assigned deliverables and activities, demonstrate a strong process orientation and training skills/experience, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with program partners and develop messages to target audiences via program marketing channels.
  • Identify program risks, operational challenges, and process improvement opportunities to inform program design, implementation planning, and market engagement strategy.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to support internal and external reporting, program evaluation, operational decision-making, and strategic planning.
