Center for Sustainable Energy is one of three regional administrators for a $567 million program designed to install energy-efficient technologies at no cost for low- and moderate-income households.
Funded by the California Energy Commission’s Equitable Building Decarbonization Program, this direct install initiative offers a range of electrification retrofits and electric appliances to reduce carbon emissions and promote energy equity. Eligible upgrades include heat pumps, whole-house fans, clothes dryers, ranges, lighting, and more.
CSE has been awarded a block grant of up to $108 million to oversee program implementation in underserved communities across central California. This region spans the coast from Santa Barbara to Santa Cruz and inland from Lake Tahoe to San Bernardino County.
The other program administrators are the County of Los Angeles for the southern region and the Association for Energy Affordability for the northern region.
