CSE is a regional administrator for a $567 million California Energy Commission program that installs energy-efficient technologies at no cost for low- and moderate-income households.
Called the Equitable Building Decarbonization Program, it offers a range of electrification retrofits and electric appliances to improve indoor air quality, reduce carbon emissions and promote energy equity. Eligible upgrades include heat pumps, whole-house fans, clothes dryers, ranges, lighting and more
CSE was awarded a block grant of up to $93.7 million to oversee program implementation in under-resourced communities across central California. This region spans the coast from Santa Barbara to Santa Cruz and inland from Lake Tahoe to San Bernardino County.
Other program administrators are the County of Los Angeles for the southern region and the Association for Energy Affordability for the northern region.
