Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE) is the Program Technical Assistance Manager for New Mexico’s $156 million Solar for All program, supporting a nationwide effort to make residential solar and energy storage more accessible and affordable for low-income communities.
The program is part of the federal $7 billion Solar for All initiative, which aims to deliver solar and storage benefits to approximately 900,000 low-income households across the U.S.
In New Mexico, the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department will sponsor the program through its Energy Conservation and Management Division.
Working collaboratively with the state and partners, CSE’s responsibilities will include program planning and design, oversight of project development, technical and financial assistance and assessment, workforce development, and contractor selection and oversight. CSE’s work also includes education and outreach and project tracking and approval, in coordination with the Financial Assistance Manager and Energy Coaches. This includes engaging with state agencies, stakeholders and community-based organizations to ensure broad, equitable participation. To support all aspects of the program, CSE will collaborate with a diverse network of partners, including solar developers, financing entities, academic institutions, energy associations and others.
