Formed by CSE, the Utility Customer Education Program provides consumer information on plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) charging programs and special electricity rates offered by local utilities in California.
The program is a way for participants in the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project to learn about utility-specific benefit options available to them. The initiative focuses on the importance of notifying the local utility upon purchasing a PEV, special utility rates available for PEV owners, various metering options available and other programs or incentives offered by participating utilities.

Utility Customer Education Program Impacts

More than 128,000 CVRP applicants have received utility-specific inserts with their vehicle rebate checks.

Some 75% of CVRP applicants have opted-in to receive additional information from their utility regarding EV charging rates.
