Combined Heat and Power Technical Assistance Partnership (Western)

CSE led an effort for the U.S. Department of Energy to accelerate wider development of combined heat and power energy technologies in Arizona, California, Nevada and Hawaii.

CHP installations in the United States exceed 82.7GW at over 4,400 industrial and commercial facilities. But technology and policy barriers have not allowed CHP to be fully deployed in the Western region.

To further develop the CHP market, CSE provided education, outreach and technical assistance to a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including commercial and industrial end users, state decision-makers, electric and gas utilities, trade associations and nonprofit organizations. Assistance included evaluating the economics, reliability and environmental value of proposed energy systems.
