CSE has joined in Veloz, a new California statewide education and outreach effort to greatly increase public awareness of electric vehicles (EVs) that brings together automakers, charging equipment providers, government agencies and others to advance EV adoption. Veloz is focused on accelerating California’s goal of 1.5 million zero-emission cars on the road by 2025.

Veloz, Spanish for fast or quick, is a nonprofit founded by public and private sector EV industry experts that builds on the successes of the California Plug-In Electric Vehicle Collaborative that was founded in 2010 and will soon end. Veloz will use a variety of consumer-oriented strategic initiatives to meet consumers where they are and inspire them to choose an electric car for their transportation needs. Businesses, organizations and consumers interested in joining Veloz should visit their membership page.

CSE is a founding member of Veloz, and CSE President Len Hering is serving on its inaugural board of directors.

“With private and public sectors working together to advance the electric car movement, more Californians will discover EVs are a better way to drive,” Hering said. “EV sales in the state have increased nearly tenfold in the past five years, thanks in large part to the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project that CSE administers for the California Air Resources Board.”
