The California Energy Commission has awarded a five-year, $5 million grant to fund the San Diego Regional Energy Innovation Cluster, a nine-member partnership among regional business organizations and academic institutions that will connect entrepreneurs in San Diego, Imperial, Riverside and San Bernardino counties to resources to help them successfully bring energy innovations to market.

CSE will support the cluster program by leveraging its expertise in energy policy, research and analysis, and energy engineering to provide information on trends, barriers and opportunities in clean energy. We also will be involved in technology and knowledge transfer activities, including disseminating project results to policymakers and key stakeholders via webinars and other CSE channels.

Cleantech San Diego leads the effort with partners CSE, CONNECT, San Diego Venture Group, Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation, Inland Empire Economic Partnership, San Diego State University, UC San Diego and University of San Diego.
