Case Study: An EV Charging Plan for the State of Louisiana

Louisiana Clean Fuels

Federal infrastructure funding is jumpstarting efforts to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging across the U.S.

Under a contract with Louisiana Clean Fuels, the Center for Sustainable Energy developed a comprehensive EV charging infrastructure plan for the state Department of Transportation and Development to qualify for $75 million in Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) funding.

CSE used its Caret® EV Infrastructure Planner to develop a unique, mathematical weighting of the state’s charging priorities. Using Caret, CSE then pinpointed and prioritized sites for public charging, and recommended the types and amounts of charging to install at each location.
