Since 2015, the Connecticut Hydrogen and Electric Automobile Purchase Rebate (CHEAPR) has offered incentives for Connecticut residents who purchase or lease an eligible battery electric, plug-in hybrid electric or fuel cell electric vehicle. To qualify for this incentive, dealerships complete and submit the application at the time of purchase or lease. Currently, Connecticut residents may receive a rebate of up to $5,000 on eligible vehicles. Incentive amounts are based on the EPA rated electric range of each vehicle. Center for Sustainable Energy administers the CHEAPR program on behalf of Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Learn more about CHEAPR here.
Note: CHEAPR program statistics capture electric vehicles that qualify through the program. These statistics do not capture ineligible models or owners who did not take advantage of the program.
