California's Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) has rebated over 500,000 electric vehicles (EVs) since its inception in 2010. Center for Sustainable Energy, CVRP’s administrator, has conducted ongoing research into the emissions impact and cost-effectiveness of these rebates.
Since 2010, Californians have received nearly $1.46 billion in light-duty zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) incentives to buy or lease over 560,000 electric vehicles (EVs) through four principal incentive programs of the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
As more governments and utilities focus on evolving clean transportation and sustainable energy solutions beyond early adopters to low-income, disadvantaged, rural and tribal communities, effective two-way communication with these communities will be critical to program success.
